Wednesday August 6,

I will be in Oakland for the ISGB conference leaving tomorrow and will not return till Monday. Today was a difficult day because we buried my husband's grandmother. She was 98 years old. It was a beautiful day and then this evening we finally got some much needed rain.

Till next time,

Wednesday July 30,

Can you believe it!!!!! It is already the end of July. I have been very busy. We have been looking for a house to call home. The prices here in Colorado are 2 1/2 time the price as in Texas. We did finally put a bid on one this last weekend. Now more work! Lots of paper work and because we are renting there are still lots of things in storage and some of them are the papers we need for the lender. All this while trying to get ready for ISGB. It is always great to see friends and make new one. I really enjoy people and wished that I could remember everyone's name. Well!!! Here is what I have been working on in glass. The heart is red glass layered with fine silver.

Friday July 11th,

Where does the time go!!!! For the 4th of July weekend we went to Estes Park where we saw some spectacular fireworks as well as getting in some fishing and hiking. There was lots of smoke form the fires in California so visitors center told us.. I had a bad reaction to the smoke!!! My eyes burned so bad that I could not open them for almost an hour as the tears run down my face like a turned on water faucet. I put some drops in them that helped and we were able to have a great weekend. I could not see well enough to take pictures but here is a great one that my husband took.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Bernadette

Wednesday July 2nd,

A couple of weeks ago I was in Albuquerque because my nephew Adam was in the hospital. His kidneys were failing and his blood pressure was very high. He was allowed only 8 oz of water per day and no food because of test that were being done. He kept asking for something to drink. My heart broke for him. When it was my shift to watch him, his food and water intake were increased. he was allowed a limited diet (very low sodium) and his liquid intake was increased to 1500cc a day. His favorite things to eat are jolly ranchers, Subway cookies, coconut marshmallows and  donuts!!! But his favorite of all is cotton candy!!!! At first he was limited because the doctors thought he would not be able to hold it down. I gave him as much as he wanted as long as he ate his meal. Well, he was so hungry after a 4 day fast that he ate and ate and ate. He is home now after a 24 day stay in the hospital. However, he will be starting a round of experimental drugs that I pray will cure him. I was sad to leave him. A couple days later he asked his mom if it be possible for me to stay with him.

Friday June 27th,

I have been working hard filling orders. Today I got started to late and it was way to hot, 94 degrees in the studio, (AKA as the shack) to work. I have to work early in the morning or later in the evening. In Texas my studio would not drop below 92 degrees in the summer even with the air conditioner on. Because we are only living here temporary, till we find a home, we will not be putting to much into it. However, I did take the time to have a vented box put in and the glass organized. I am so very happy with it. My husband's friend John built it.

Of course once I got back to work it did not stay this clean!! This is a pic from a few months ago when the vent box was built. Now it is filled with tools, enamels, bits of glass, glass rods and silver.

Sunday June, 15th

Happy fathers day to all the fathers out there. It was a great day we had a BBQ with ribs, steak, hamburgers and hot dogs along with lots of side dishes. Although the food is great, the most wonderful part is to have and take time with our grandchildren!!! Here is a picture of my DH playing with our grandchildren.

I will be in New Mexico for a few day!

Till next time,

Wednesday June, 11th

The Bead & Button Show was a success. My new beads were received quite well. I am enjoying making them and the ideas are coming faster that I can make them. I received some custom orders!!!! On Saturday night while in Milwaukee there was a TORNADO warning. Yes!! a tornado warning!!! Everyone was sent into the hall for safety.  It touched down about 25 miles from where we were and was heading in our direction but never got to where we were. From my booth I could see out the doors to the hall and out great big windows. Never in the 12 years we live in Texas did I see the sky so green. I did miss having my friend Jackie there. But she will be back next year.

Till next time,
