Christmas
was great!!! We had a record breaking day of snow fall of 6” on
Christmas day!!! Woo Hoo We got to see our grandchildren open their
presents in our home for the first time on Christmas Day. They seemed
to like what we got for them. For Arianna we got her a digital camera
and she started taking pictures right away. For little Paul Ray we got
him a dinosaur that roars and stomps, he is all boy he likes to roar.
Paul went out to shovel the show and as you can see after cleaning the
drive way and side walk there is more snow on the ground. Two days
later we got another 4” of show. We did get out to his dads house and
had tamales and green chili that were very delicious. The tamales were
the ones we the family made Christmas Eve morning. We made 40# of
tamales. It was lots of fun being with family. I am loving being in Colorado with family and the Winter Wonder Land.
Wishing everyone has a safe and great New Year!!
Till next time!

Finally got my studio
up and running at its bear minimum. Only the glass and torch and a few
tools have been unpacked. Just enough to get my orders out! My
customers have are so understanding! It was not supposed to snow till
Saturday but instead it we woke up to snow on Tuesday. When I got out
to my studio everything was frozen!!! The bead release and the bowl of
water with my beads that needed to be cleaned out! I had to bring
everything into the house to unthaw and had the heater on to warm up
the studio so that I can get back to work. Once I get caught up on my
orders I will be making beads to put up on e-bay. In Texas it was too hot in Colorado
it is too cold!! Just call me Goldilocks!!!!!!!!!! Although it has been
a challenge to go from a wonderful 12 X 24 studio with only a door
separating me from my home! To a 8 X 10 space that is separate from the
house I am really liking being back in Colorado!

November 23rd
We started out after breakfast for Colorado!
It took about 13 hours to get here. About 300 miles out my DH started
saying “Are we there yet?” We laughed because, when we lived in Colorado and made trips to New Mexico
our son would always say “Are we there yet?” about ˝ hour after we
started a 7 hour trip. When we came out the first time we did it in two
days because after loading the trucks all day we just could not drive
for 13+ hours. This time we did not want to take two days because we
had to unload the trucks on Monday and my DH had to be to work early
Tuesday morning. He caught a terrible cold!!!! I am excited and eager
to get the studio up and running again. I will start unwrapping the
glass to get a head start.
Till next time,
Bernadette
This is where my studio is at this time!
November 22nd
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
November 21st
I did have to go back to Texas
to bring back my pickup truck. It was such a great visit! We got
together to celebrate Dez’s B’Day. She was so excited with what we got
for her that even though I had the camera on sport mode she still came
out as a blur on the pictures. We laughed and had a great time. Mary
one of my friends was out of town when we left. She was in Arizona
taking care of her sister who had breast cancer. What a trooper they
have both been. Her sister is doing well and we pray that she continue
to do well. I was so glad to see the McGirls again. My DH flew in on
Friday night again, and then on Saturday morning many of our friends
gathered for breakfast. It was bitter sweet. I will truly miss them!

Today is my friend birthday. Happy B'Day Dez!!!
On Monday morning November 5th
we got up early and got started unloading the trucks. Our son came by
to help as did two new friends of my DH, his sister and brother in law.
They worked hard! The men brought in all the big furniture and I did
not have to handle hardly any of the heavy things. We were finished by
3pm. But that was just the beginning for me. My DH went back to work on
Tuesday and I stayed home unpacking box after box, after box. It is
hard to fit a 1600 square foot house into a 1200 square food home. The
third bedroom which does not exist is still being stored till we find a
permanent place to live. It is such a tough market and we are having a
hard time sell our house in Texas.
It took a week but I have the living room, dining room, master, and
kitchen completely unpacked and ready to live in. I still have not
found some essential and probably will not until the next move. At this
time the second bedroom is storage for the boxes that house my studio.
It is being built and will be completed on Wednesday!! I then can get
started unpacking the studio and getting started on orders that have
been on hold. My customers have been so understanding and patient.
Till next time,
Bernadette

For the
passed three weeks I have been buried in paper, bubble wrap, and boxes.
My friend Dez came over to help and we packed about 250 boxes in one
week. She did such a great job! I would have never competed the task
without her help. My other friend Martha came over one day to help as
well. Then when it was time to load the truck many people showed up
many of our friends came to help and did such a great job. Only one of
the guys we hired to load showed up. My husband, his sister and brother
in law flew in on Friday night and we loaded the trucks. That right it
took not one but two trucks to bring all our things to Colorado. It took about 6 hours to load then we started on our journey. Spent the night in Amarillo
then got an early start we gained two hours one because we were heading
West and the other because it was day light savings time. We got to Colorado and unloaded about 3/4 of the bigger truck. We were able to spend the night here. More to come!

October 28th
Well the buyers terminated the contract! So the house is back on the market. The real estate agent will be having an open house next Sunday the 28th from 2 - 4. There has not been any traffic to see the house. While it was under contract we did have an inspection done on it and just as I thought there is nothing major wrong with the house. A few sockets need to be replaced but that is all. Every thing is in great condition.
Till next time.

Where does the time go!!!!! The average person moves every 7 years. I have live here for over 12 years. I can not imagine moving more often than that. Below is a picture of the front of my house and there is a link to virtual reality of my home that is for sale. I really have liked my orange walls, the big spacious area to work and the big bedrooms. I will be buying a much smaller house for double the money when I move to Colorado. I have been working so very hard on orders and an art Show that I did here in my home last weekend. It was a great success. This Wednesday will be my last show for Texas. My friend Dez helped me paint the enclosed patio that is where I work. She did such a great job. We do have a contract on the house and closing is set for November 16th! Wooo Hooo!
Thanks Giving in Colorado with my family.

October 1st
I had a home show this weekend and it was a great success. My friends are very supportive of my work and they always invite others to come. In fact they are so supportive that every week they meet me for lunch at McDonalds. One of the gals Dez the one on the right side of the photo calls us McGirls!!!! When she first told up I thought she said McGrills!! LOL From the right is Dez, Anna and Mary! It is not exclusive to only us some times there are others and some times it is only a one on one lunch but it is always rewarding. We will now be changing the day to Wednesday so that one of our other friends Jean can join in on the fun, laughs and sometimes tears. I will really miss the McGirls when I move to Colorado.

My friend Jama Holmes moved from Texas to Colorado 3 years ago. Last week while we were in Colorado there was a bead show going on and of course Jama and I had to go. She picked me up in her great Vet!!! It is so much fun to ride in and Jama is a jewel. Look at her feet she is wearing red high tops. Too Cool!!! She knows lot about gem stones so she helped pick out some great stones. I am having a hard time not hoarding them. Hoping to spend more time with her when we move to Colorado! She had been eating healthy and it shows!!! You go girl!!!

September 11th
Today is my granddaughters 7th birthday. We will be celebrating it this weekend. It rained quit a bit this weekend. They said it would start at 7am but it did not start till about 2pm and when it rained it came down. We sure needed some rain. It has been dry for a few weeks here. Although we did get lots of rain this spring that created some flooding. Not to good! I am looking forward to cooler weather. I wish we could sell this house so that I can get to Colorado and moved in before the winter sets in.
Till next time!
September 10th
It is still really hot here!!! I do not really like the heat but I do not like to be chilled to the bones either. Just call me Godylocks! While my husband was out working in the yard one day he ran in and said to grab the camera and come quickly. I knew it would be a special treat and sure enough here is what he wanted to show me. He took this great picture! Isn't it just so beautiful.
August 21st,
I finally took the time and silver lined my first bead. This one is hollow and I was so sure that as I came down with the leather mallet that the bead would shatter into itsy bitsy little pieces. WhooHoo a success!!!! This is know as a Troll bead to be use on a Troll bracelet or necklace. My next attempt will have sterling silver caps as well. This bead is lined with liquid silver when dry becomes a mirror finish. It is very reflective.
It is for sale one eBay!

August 15th,
I have been working so hard getting my home ready for sale. I have to decide what to pack away and what to keep up packed for use. That is not as easy at it seems! I feel I need everything. Especially in my studio! The yard is not to hard to take care of just mow and weed eat the edges every week. Here is a picture of the front of the house.
I took the day off today and went to the Nasher Sculpture Museum in Dallas. I really enjoyed the company of my friend Jean. She reall likes glass too! In the gift shop they had glass birds. In this picture you can see the bird. It has been silvered as I do my hollow beads. Standing near the bird is looks like metal sculptures but they are not they too are glass with silver lining.
Till we meet again,

August 3,
Boy does time fly!!! I can not believe that the ISGB Conference is passed. I was given a certificate for being the only one who has attended all the conferences 15!!! They are always so much fun and this one was no acceptation. I met lots of great people from LE!!! Everyone is so nice! We laughed, looked at beads and tools. As always I spent lots of money. I have been working a big order and still need to work on my home. Hopefully it will sell soon.
Till next time

July 23rd
I will be leaving town for a few day and will not have access to a computer to respond to e-mails or fill any orders until August 2nd.
Well my house will go on the market when I get back from the ISGB conference. The people who were to come see the house were not able to make it. Sad actually, the woman tried to get out of bed and could not walk. She has spine issues and her knee is so bad that she will have to have it replaced and because she is so young the insurance will not pay. I feel so bad for them.
Have a great day,
Bernadette Fuentes
